KC HS Hoops

KC HS Hoops is a custom-built stats and media platform for Kansas City high school basketball. The site brings together boys and girls stats, scores, standings, team pages, top performers, live streams, and player exposure tools in one place — giving local athletes more visibility and giving fans, families, coaches, and media a better way to follow the season.

The problem

Kansas City has a deep high school basketball scene, but there wasn't one easy place to find reliable stats, scores, standings, team information, and player performance data across the metro.

Players needed more exposure. Coaches needed a simple way to submit information. Fans, media, and families needed a place to follow the season beyond scattered social posts, school websites, and box scores.

KC HS Hoops was built to bring all of that together.

What I built

KC HS Hoops is a custom web application that collects, organizes, and displays high school basketball data across the Kansas City area.

The platform includes:

The public-facing site is built to be simple and fast for fans, while the backend is designed to make ongoing data entry and season-long management possible.

How it works

Coaches submit stats throughout the season. Those stats are entered, organized, and displayed across the site so players, teams, families, fans, and media can quickly find the information they need.

Visitors can browse boys stats, girls stats, top performers, team stats, conference stats, results, schedules, standings, live streams, and team pages from one central location. The homepage also includes quick search tools for finding players and teams.

The result

KC HS Hoops has become a dedicated home for Kansas City high school basketball stats and coverage.

Instead of players being buried in scattered box scores or only promoted by individual schools, the platform gives them a centralized place to be seen. Coaches have a direct path to submit stats, fans have a reliable source to follow the season, and sponsors have a niche audience of local basketball families, athletes, coaches, and fans.
